Executive Director Steve Habif announces that Vermont Children’s Aid
Society has elected new members to its board of directors.
Dennis Myrick of St. Johnsbury and Heidi Pelletier of Montpelier have accepted three year
terms as members of the volunteer board.

Continuing members are Board President Bruce Jacobs of Richmond, Vice President
Denise Nagelschmidt of Colchester, Treasurer Wes Daum, Jr., Secretary Bill Baker of
North Hero, and Immediate Past President Richard Engel of Manchester, as well as
members Joseph Finnigan of South Burlington, Kasia Fodor of South Hero, Chris Francis
of Stowe, Suzanne Griffiths of Craftsbury, Charlie Hall of Windsor, JoAnn McKee of
Burlington, Josh Patrick of Hinesburg, and Sarah Weisman of Burlington. Board
members provide financial oversight, assist with securing revenue, and help increase
awareness of the issues facing Vermont’s children and families.

Vermont Children’s Aid Society is a private not-for-profit organization with offices in
Winooski and Woodstock, Vermont. Our professional staff has been supporting and
strengthening families since 1919 through a variety of comprehensive programs
including adoption services, child and family counseling, a children’s summer camp, and
programs for families affected by a parent’s incarceration. VCAS is dedicated to the
provision of services which seek to support and strengthen families, and promote safe,
stable, and nurturing environments for children.

VCAS is a member of six United Way chapters in Vermont as well as a member of the
Child Welfare League of America and a recipient of the Better Business Bureau’s Charity
